These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all ticket purchases and participation in events organised by Sportly Ltd (“Sportly”, “we”, “our”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number [16411942] with registered office at [47 Redden Court Road, Romford, RM3 0UR]. By purchasing a ticket and/or participating in a Sportly event, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not purchase a ticket or attend any event.
1. Eligibility
Sportly events are designed for single adults aged 18+. By booking a ticket, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- You are single and attending in good faith to meet other attendees.
- You are medically fit to participate in the sporting activities.
2. Tickets, Payments and Cooling Off Period
- All ticket sales are final once processed through our website or approved payment partner.
- If you book more than 14 days in advance, you have a statutory 14-day cooling off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- However, if you book within 14 days of the event date, you expressly waive your right to cancel under the cooling-off period in accordance with regulation 29(1).
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 14 calendar days of the event.
- You may request a name transfer for a ticket up to 5 days before the event, subject to our discretion.
3. Group Bookings
We offer discounted or priority booking rates for group purchases, subject to availability. The lead booker accepts responsibility for ensuring all attendees:
- Meet the eligibility criteria under Clause 1.
- Are aware of and agree to these Terms.
- Have provided correct and up-to-date contact details.
No refunds or changes will be made to group bookings within 14 days of the event. Transfers may be possible with prior agreement in writing.
4. Membership
Sportly may introduce a membership scheme offering priority booking, discounts, or exclusive events. Membership terms will be governed by separate conditions and may be revoked at our discretion if you breach these Terms or behave inappropriately.
5. Health and Safety Disclaimer
By purchasing a ticket, you confirm:
- You have taken appropriate medical advice to ensure that you are physically fit to participate.
- You understand that all physical activity carries inherent risks, including participation at your own risk.
We accept no liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained during or after the event unless caused by our gross negligence. We reserve the right to refuse participation or ask any individual to leave an event if they appear intoxicated, aggressive, or otherwise pose a risk to others.
6. Behaviour, Stalking and Harassment Disclaimer
While Sportly promotes social interaction and connections, we do not guarantee or facilitate romantic outcomes. We accept no liability for any unwanted contact, harassment, or stalking that may arise from interactions initiated at our events. Attendees are responsible for their own conduct and encouraged to report any inappropriate behaviour to the relevant authorities and Sportly to enable appropriate action.
7. Image Use and Media Rights
By attending a Sportly event, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use photographs, video footage or other media featuring your image for promotional, quality assurance, or commercial purposes across our website, social media and other media platforms. If you wish to opt out of this, you must notify us in writing at least 48 hours before the event at: contact@sport-ly.co.uk. You waive all moral rights in any such content, unless you notify us in writing otherwise.
8. Event Changes and Cancellation
- If we cancel the event, you will be entitled to a full refund or transfer to another event of equal value.
- We are not liable for any travel, accommodation or other costs incurred due to a cancellation or change.
9. No Match Guarantee
We do not guarantee that you will form a romantic or personal connection at our events. Outcomes depend on participant compatibility and personal interaction. Sportly Ltd does not provide matchmaking or introduction services.
10. Participant Code of Conduct
All attendees must treat others with respect, courtesy, and dignity. Any form of discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the event without refund and/or permanent exclusion from future events.
11. Alcohol and Substance Use
Attendees must comply with venue rules regarding alcohol consumption and substance use. Disorderly or unsafe behaviour due to intoxication will result in immediate removal without refund.
12. Safety and Reporting
If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe during an event, please report this immediately to a designated Sportly team member or event host. We take all reports seriously and will take appropriate action.
13. Personal Belongings
You are responsible for your personal items at all times. Sportly accepts no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged property brought to events.
14. Relationship Conduct After Events
Any contact between attendees after an event is beyond the control and responsibility of Sportly Ltd. We are not responsible for the outcome of relationships formed through our platform or events.
15. Moderation and Removal
We reserve the right to moderate, suspend, or remove any user from our digital platforms or events for violating these Terms, our community guidelines, or for behaviour we deem inappropriate.
16. Third-Party Discounts & Partner Venues
- Does not endorse or guarantee the quality, safety, or availability of these third-party services.
- Accepts no responsibility for any issues arising from their use. Attendees enter any third-party venue or redeem any third-party offer at their own risk, and any relationship formed is between the attendee and the provider directly.
17. Food, Drink & Allergies
- It is your sole responsibility to check the ingredients for allergens.
- Sportly cannot guarantee that food or drink items are allergen-free. Sportly is not liable for any allergic reactions, illnesses, or adverse effects arising from the consumption of these products.
18. Contact Details
You must keep your contact information up to date. You remain liable for any communications or charges that arise as a result of outdated or incorrect contact information.
19. User-Generated Content and Moderation
- You are solely responsible for the content you submit.
- You will not upload anything unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or infringing the rights of others.
- We reserve the right to moderate, edit, refuse, or remove any content at our discretion and without notice.
20. Account Suspension and Termination
- You breach these Terms or our community guidelines.
- You behave inappropriately toward others online or at our events.
- Your conduct poses a risk to the safety or wellbeing of other users or our business.
You may also close your account at any time by contacting us in writing. Termination does not entitle you to a refund unless required by law.
21. Dating Safety Guidelines
- Using your judgment when engaging with other users.
- Meeting in public places.
- Not sharing personal information prematurely.
You must report any suspicious or inappropriate behaviour to us or relevant authorities.
22. Matchmaking Disclaimer
Sportly Ltd is not a matchmaking service. We do not vet, verify, or guarantee the availability, compatibility, or identity of any participant or user. Any profiles, matches, or suggestions on our platform are for social connection purposes only.
23. Subscription Services and Renewals
If we offer paid subscriptions (e.g., premium profiles, member access, or events):
- You will be clearly informed of the pricing, billing cycle, and cancellation policy.
- All subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You may cancel via your account dashboard or by contacting us at least 48 hours before the renewal date.
Refunds are only issued where required by law or stated in our specific subscription terms.
24. Assignment
We may assign or subcontract our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our prior written consent.
25. Confidentiality
We handle your personal data securely and in accordance with UK data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
26. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sportly Ltd, its officers, agents, and staff, from any claims, damages or liabilities arising from your breach of these Terms or participation in our events.
27. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Any other liability which cannot legally be limited or excluded.
- We are not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, including (but not limited to) loss of profit, opportunity, goodwill, or emotional distress.
- Our total liability to you shall not exceed the greater of £100, or the total amount paid by you to Sportly Ltd for the specific event or service giving rise to the claim.
- We are not responsible for the actions, conduct, or omissions of other attendees or users, either at events or via our digital platforms.
28. Intellectual Property
All content, materials, branding, photographs, and media on our website and used at events are owned by or licensed to Sportly Ltd. You may not reproduce or use these without our prior written permission.
29. Set-Off
You may not withhold, set-off, or deduct any amounts owed to us without our prior written agreement.
30. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Sportly Ltd and supersede all previous agreements or understandings, whether oral or written.
31. Counterparts
These Terms may be agreed to electronically and shall be deemed to have the same force as a signed agreement.
32. Notices
All formal notices must be sent to our published email or postal address, and are deemed received 2 working days after sending.
33. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, strikes, illness, governmental actions, or venue closures.
34. No Partnership
Nothing in these Terms creates a joint venture, partnership, or employment relationship between us.
35. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
36. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us to seek an informal resolution. If no resolution is achieved, either party may refer the matter to mediation before commencing formal legal proceedings.
37. Complaints
If you have a complaint or concern about an event, a booking, or any aspect of our service, please contact us by email at contact@sport-ly.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to respond in full within 5 working days. If the matter requires further investigation, we will keep you informed and provide a full response as soon as reasonably possible.
